MixerCloud Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 25, 2025
Introduction
Welcome to MixerCloud, a professional networking platform designed to connect creative professionals and collaborators. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the MixerCloud mobile application ("App"), how we use and share that information, how we store and protect it, and your rights regarding your data. It also describes important disclaimers and legal protections relevant to using our platform.
MixerCloud is operated from our offices in Dallas, Texas, USA (17250 Dallas Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75248). We comply with applicable data protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). By using MixerCloud, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the App. For any questions or concerns, you can contact us at support@mixercloud.com.
Information We Collect
To provide and improve the MixerCloud experience, we collect several types of information from and about users of our App:
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect personal information such as your name, email address, and phone number. We use your phone number for account verification and security (for example, to send a verification code during sign-up or login). This basic contact information is necessary to register your account and help secure it.
- Profile Information: You may choose to provide additional details on your MixerCloud profile to enhance your networking experience. This can include information like a profile photo, bio or summary, job title, company/organization, location, professional skills, or other limited profile details. Providing this information is optional, but it can help others on the platform learn more about you professionally. Please note that any information you add to your profile will be visible to other users of the platform (unless specified otherwise).
- User Content: We collect and store the content that you create, upload, or share on MixerCloud. This includes projects you publish, portfolio pieces, posts, comments, and messages or chat communications you send through the App. User-uploaded content such as project files, text, images, or any posts are stored on our servers so that they can be shared with others on the platform and reviewed if needed. Even your private messages may be stored (and, in certain cases, reviewed by us as described below) to ensure safety and compliance with our policies.
- Device and Usage Data: Like many apps, MixerCloud automatically collects data about how you interact with the App. This usage data includes information such as the features you use, the content you view or engage with, the other users you connect with, and the dates and times of your activities. We also gather technical information about your device and connection when you use the App. This can include your device type (e.g. iPhone or Android model), operating system version, unique device identifiers, IP address, and app version. We collect this information to help us understand how users use the service, to troubleshoot issues, and to improve our application's performance and user experience.
- Analytics Information: MixerCloud uses third-party analytics services (specifically Google Firebase Analytics and Google Analytics) to collect and analyze usage data about our App. These services automatically receive certain data when you use MixerCloud, such as device identifiers, IP address, user interactions (for example, what screens or buttons are clicked), and other information about how you use the App. We use these analytics tools to gain insights into platform performance, monitor the stability of the app, and understand aggregate user behaviors (for instance, to see which features are most popular or to diagnose crashes). The information collected through these services helps us improve MixerCloud.
- Purchase and Subscription Information: MixerCloud offers certain premium features or subscriptions through in-app purchases on Apple's App Store. If you choose to upgrade to a premium account or purchase other content/services in the App, the transaction will be processed through Apple. We receive information about the purchase from Apple – for example, confirmation that you made a purchase, what was purchased (e.g. a premium membership or feature), and the applicable subscription term. However, MixerCloud does not collect or store your payment card details or billing information; any payment information you provide is given directly to Apple.
How We Use Your Information
MixerCloud uses the collected information for various purposes related to operating our platform, providing services to you, and ensuring a safe, efficient experience. The main ways we use your information include:
- To Provide and Maintain the Service: We use personal information like your name and email to create your account and let you log in and use MixerCloud. Your information allows us to display your profile to you and others, to facilitate connections and communication between users, and to generally enable the core networking features of the App.
- Networking and Profile Visibility: MixerCloud is a networking platform, so we use your profile information and content to introduce you to other users and to foster professional connections. For example, we might use details like your skills or location to suggest relevant connections or projects.
- Verification and Security: We use your phone number and email for verification purposes – for instance, sending verification codes or emails to confirm your account and to help prevent fraudulent accounts. This helps us ensure that each account is tied to a real, unique user.
- Improve and Personalize Your Experience: The information we collect (including usage patterns and analytics data) is used to improve MixerCloud's performance and develop new features. We analyze how users interact with the App to identify bugs, optimize user interface and design, and make the user experience more intuitive.
- Analytics and Performance Monitoring: We specifically utilize Google Firebase Analytics and Google Analytics data to understand aggregate trends and metrics such as overall user growth, session length, or feature usage statistics.
- Communications and Customer Support: We may use your contact information (email or in-app notifications) to send important updates and communications about the service.
- Content Monitoring and Safety: In order to maintain a trusted environment, we may review, monitor, or scan user content for compliance with our Terms of Service and to ensure user safety.
- Enforcing Our Terms and Policies: We may use your information to investigate and address violations of our Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, or this Privacy Policy.
- Legal Compliance: We will use and disclose your personal information as necessary to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
How We Share Your Information
We understand that sharing of personal data is an important privacy concern. MixerCloud does not sell your personal information to third parties, and we only share your information in certain situations that are necessary to run our platform or as required by law. Below are the scenarios in which we may share or disclose information:
- Sharing with Other Users: Since MixerCloud is a networking platform, some of your information is shared with other users by design. Specifically, the profile information and content you choose to post on MixerCloud will be visible to other users of the platform.
- Third-Party Service Providers: We employ a few trusted third-party services to help us operate and improve MixerCloud, and in doing so, we may share certain data with them only as necessary for them to perform their functions.
- In-App Purchases and Payments: As noted, all purchases on MixerCloud are handled through Apple's in-app purchase system.
- Legal Compliance and Protection: MixerCloud may disclose your personal information when required by law or if we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation.
- Business Transfers: In the event MixerCloud undertakes a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition by another company, sale of all or a portion of its assets, or a financing or bankruptcy event, your user information might be among the assets transferred or reviewed.
- With Your Consent: Apart from the cases above, we will only share your personal information with third parties with your explicit consent or at your direction.
Data Storage and Security
We understand that the security of your personal data is important. MixerCloud implements a variety of measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Here is how we handle data storage and security:
- Data Storage Location: The information we collect from you is stored on secure servers. These may be cloud-based servers provided by reputable third-party hosting providers that we contract with.
- Security Measures: We use industry-standard security practices to safeguard personal data. This includes technical measures such as encryption, firewalls, and secure socket layer (SSL) technology to protect data transmission.
- Retention of Data: We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
- No Absolute Security: While we are committed to protecting your data, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
Your Rights and Choices
You have various rights and choices regarding the personal information you provide to us. MixerCloud is committed to respecting these rights and providing you with control over your data. The availability of certain rights may depend on your residency (for example, EU or California residents have specific legal rights), but we extend many of these principles to all users. Here are the ways you can manage your information and exercise your rights:

- Opt-Out of Analytics Tracking: If you wish to limit the data collected by Google Analytics or Firebase Analytics, you have a couple of options.
- Do Not Track (DNT) Signals: "Do Not Track" is a concept that has been implemented by some web browsers to request that a web application disable its tracking or cross-site user tracking.
